Itinerary
Upon your arrival at Socotra Airport, your adventure begins as we head towards the renowned Delisha Beach. This stunning location is famed for its pristine shoreline, breathtaking views, and crystal-clear waters.
At Delisha Beach, you can fully immerse yourself in the tranquil atmosphere. Enjoy activities such as swimming, sunbathing, and leisurely walks along the shore, all while taking in the striking sand dunes that define this picturesque landscape.
For those seeking an authentic outdoor experience, we offer the opportunity to camp amidst the natural beauty of Delisha Beach, allowing you to fully absorb the serenity of this coastal paradise.
On the second day of your journey, you will explore the breathtaking Momi Plateau, where the enchanting Kelesehan Canyon awaits. This stunning canyon, known for its unique and captivating landscape, offers the perfect setting for a brief trek and a refreshing swim in its crystal-clear pools.
Next, you will visit the Homhil Terrestrial Protected Area, a haven of biodiversity. Here, you'll encounter a variety of flora, including the Boswellia elongata, Socotrana, and Nana species of frankincense trees. As you wander through the ancient Frankincense Forest, you'll learn about the rich history and cultural significance of this prized resin. There will also be opportunities to purchase locally-made incense and explore handcrafted goods. Your day concludes with a serene camping experience in Homhil, allowing you to fully embrace the natural beauty of this remarkable area.
On the third day of your Socotra adventure, you’ll start the day with breakfast and a refreshing swim in the natural infinity pool at Homhil. From there, you'll embark on a scenic hike down to the northern coast of Socotra, passing through the beautiful Wadi Shefa.
Afterwards, the journey continues as we drive to Arher, arriving in the late afternoon. Once there, you will explore the charming Ersel fishing village, taking in the local culture and serene coastal views. The day concludes with setting up camp in Arher, where you can relax and soak in the peaceful surroundings.
On the fourth day of your journey, we'll set off towards the foothills of the mountains, where your hike to the fascinating Hoq Cave begins. This trek will take you through some of Socotra's most intriguing landscapes.
After a well-deserved lunch, we'll journey towards the southern coast of Socotra, crossing the expansive Nojed Plain via Wadi Defarhu. Along the way, you'll witness the dramatic Hayf and Zahek sand dunes, a sight that truly captures the island's diverse beauty. The day will come to a close as we set up camp at the Hayf Eco-Campsite, where you'll enjoy a peaceful night under the stars.
On the fifth day of your adventure, we begin by exploring the fascinating Degub Cave, a natural wonder filled with unique formations. Afterward, we’ll head to the pristine Omak Sandy Beach, where you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters.
Next, our journey takes us to the Dixam Plateau and Wadi Dirhur, where you’ll have more time to relax and take a swim in the serene surroundings. Following this, we’ll drive uphill to discover the mystical Dragon Tree Forest in Fermhin, home to Socotra’s iconic dragon blood trees. The day concludes with a memorable camping experience amidst the captivating beauty of the Dragon Tree Forest, where you can unwind and connect with nature.
On the sixth day of your journey, we begin with a scenic drive to the northwest of the island. Our first stop is at Ghubba village, where you'll have the chance to explore the historic salt pans that have played a vital role in the local economy.
We then continue our adventure to the picturesque village of Qalansiyah and the stunning Detwah Lagoon. Here, you'll be surrounded by the natural beauty of this idyllic location, perfect for relaxation and exploration.
As the day draws to a close, you'll have the unique opportunity to meet Abdullah, a local who resides in a cave, adding a touch of Socotra's rich cultural tapestry to your experience. We will then settle in for a night of camping at the Detwah Eco-Campsite, where you can unwind under the starry skies.
On the final day of your Socotra adventure, we start with an early breakfast before setting off on a boat ride to the pristine Shoub Beach. Here, you’ll have ample time to swim and explore the mangrove areas, soaking in the natural beauty of this remote location. For those interested in fishing, an optional fishing trip can be arranged on the way to Shoub Beach, with the boatman providing all the necessary equipment.
In the afternoon, we return to Detwah Lagoon, where you'll enjoy a delicious seafood lunch hosted by a local caveman in a cave with stunning views over the lagoon. After lunch, the caveman will lead a guided tour of the lagoon, highlighting its rich marine life, including octopuses, oysters, crabs, turtles, and pufferfish.
As we return to the campsite, the evening will be filled with celebrations, featuring traditional dancing and songs performed by the Qalansiyah Folklore Troupe. This vibrant and joyful evening provides a fitting and memorable conclusion to your Socotra journey.
